Bring your expertise to jobs in the $5-$15MM range with focused execution on high-end finishes and technical systems. The majority of our projects are located in Sonoma, Napa, Marin, and Mendocino Counties, which makes for a short commute to the jobsite. To be considered for this role, candidates should have experience managing preconstruction and design from inception through permitting and estimating. Past experience with budgeting and bidding projects is also a must.
Responsibilities:
- Design project preconstruction strategies including schedules and budgets to execute on preconstruction
- Budgeting, bidding and buyout of construction projects
- Organize and lead design partners through development of permit submission and for construction documents
- Educate and lead customers through practices for effective design and construction
- Follow, refine, and propose improvements to standard company practices for preconstruction and estimating
- Request, collect, and analyze subcontractor proposals — use to identify lowest responsible bidder and address scope gaps
- Anticipate and mitigate construction project risks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in management of construction design, engineering, and permitting
- Skilled in budgeting and estimating for construction
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related engineering or architectural program
- Knowledge of and familiarity of multiple forms of collaborative project delivery, including design-build methods and hard bid
- Experience with all phases of design from conceptual documents to final drawings and specifications
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Clear and concise communication
- Excellent reporting, presentation and communication skills
