At Nordby, relationships are the foundation of our success. We believe quality is built on trust, collaboration, and a shared vision, so we prioritize long-lasting connections—both in our work and with the people we work alongside.
As Project Administrator for Nordby Signature Homes, Emma Nordby embodies this unwavering commitment to relationships, integrity, and craftsmanship. The daughter of Craig Nordby, owner of the Nordby family of companies, and the granddaughter of founder Wendell Nordby, Emma has been immersed in the world of construction for her entire life.
Growing up, she loved visiting job sites and was inspired by her father frequently pointing out a building and saying, “Yeah, we built that,” with pride. She has always observed and appreciated the creation of durable, physical manifestations of hard work – homes, offices, and facilities – that connect and serve people over long spans of time. Emma knew early on that she wanted to be part of her father’s company—so much so that her eighth-grade yearbook quote declared her goal of working for Nordby one day.
Indeed, her prediction became a reality.
However, Emma intentionally sought her own path first. While attending college, she began working in project administration for specialty contractor Dana Kitchens & Associates, developing a solid base of construction industry experience and connections. She found that her organizational skills and natural ability to develop strong working relationships were a great fit for the role.
In 2022, she joined Nordby Construction, quickly becoming an integral part of the team. When a Project Administrator role opened up with Nordby Signature Homes last year, Emma interviewed for the position, knowing it would be a remarkable opportunity to be trained by the best in the industry. President David Schroeder recognized her passion, potential, and drive for expanding her expertise and depth of knowledge.
Emma brings fresh energy and insight while continuing the family legacy and company’s highest standards. Her philosophy is direct: “Just keep going,” explaining the importance of assertively overcoming barriers, figuring out solutions for challenges, and giving 100 percent to one’s work. Her ability to manage complexity and maintain effective communications between clients and teams reflects Nordby’s dedication to getting things right, down to the last detail.
As Emma continues to grow within the company, she represents the coming generation of leadership that values both the tradition and the evolving needs of modern construction. Her contribution is key to maintaining the trusted partnerships that have been central to the success of every custom home we build.
Keep an eye out for Emma’s upcoming achievements as she channels her passion and dedication into driving the future success of Nordby Signature Homes.
