Cheers to Cuvaison: The Press Democrat Spotlights Inspiring Tasting Room Expansion Update
Last updated on November 4, 2024.
We’re raising a glass to our friends at Cuvaison Estate Wines, recently featured in The Press Democrat for their exceptional commitment to providing visitors with an elevated wine-tasting experience. For five decades, Cuvaison Winery has captivated visitors with the beauty of its Los Carneros estate and world-class wines.
Tina Caputo’s article, “A Couple of Tech Guys Opened Napa’s Cuvaison 55 Years Ago. It Keeps Getting Better,” shines a light on Cuvaison’s new terrace expansion and the striking design updates that set their tasting room apart from the crowd.
Nordby Construction is proud to have brought this vision to life in collaboration with architect Douglas Thornley of Goring & Straja Architects. The sophisticated, reimagined space embodies the winery’s welcoming approach to wine tasting by creating an airy, modern experience that reflects nature, elegant design, and exceptional wine.
“Cuvaison’s light-filled tasting room is an antidote to the dark, cellar-like atmosphere found at many wineries,” notes Caputo. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a massive, glass pivot door blur the line between indoors and outdoors by surrounding visitors with sweeping views of the vineyards, hills, and irrigation reservoir. The immersive experience invites guests to embrace the region’s natural beauty and exceptional climate.
“After more than 50 years in business, the Napa Valley winery keeps finding new ways to wow visitors,” continues Caputo. At Nordby Construction, we’re thrilled to see Cuvaison’s new tasting room garner such praise. This project stands as an exemplary addition to our portfolio of distinctive winery builds, showcasing our commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creating spaces that connect people with the surrounding landscape.
